Are your translations for Spanish visa documents official?
Yes. Our translations for Spanish visa applications come with the certification by an official sworn translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This makes them acceptable to the Spanish authorities, including visa processing authorities.
Can you advise on which documents I need?
Unfortunately not. We are a translation service. You should come to us once you have established which documents you need to submit together with a translation. Although we see many documents for visa applications, there are various visa types and individual cases can be quite different. Thus, we are not able to tell you which documents in particular you need to submit to the Spanish authorities or which ones require translation. Where we have useful information, we will point this out to you in our communications. However, you should double-check any visa application requirements directly from the information made available by the Spanish authorities.
Do I need to send you my original documents?
No. In order to prepare the Spanish sworn translations, we just need to get a good-quality copy or scan of the documents that you need to have translated as part of your visa application, so you can place your order with us entirely by e-mail without sending us any physical documents. We will deliver the official Spanish translations of your visa documents either in electronic format, where this is acceptable, or in paper form if this is required in your specific case.
How does electronic certification for visa-related Spanish translations work?
We can issue Spanish official translations that bear a recognised and verifiable electronic signature. This does away with the need to exchange physical documents making the process quicker and hassle-free. In principle, the Spanish public authorities must accept electronic documents as long as these are properly certified. However, for instances in which the authority in question may insist on a paper-based translation, we are still able to issue physical copies (an additional cost may apply for postage).
Do you offer notarisation, legalisation or apostille services?
No. We are a translation service. If you need help to get certain documents notarised (e.g. a sponsorship letter), we recommend you to contact a notary public. If you need the legalisation or apostilling of documents as part of your Spanish visa application, a notary public may also be able to assist with this, or you could liaise directly with the UK government’s legalisation office. Do the official translations for Spanish visa documents need notarisation, legalisation or apostilles?
No. Our Spanish visa translations are certified by an official Spanish sworn translator. This makes them directly acceptable to the Spanish authorities. When the requirements for a Spanish visa application refer to the notarisation, apostilling or legalisation of any documents, this is meant to refer only to the original documents, not to the translations. These do not require any further steps if they are properly certified by an officially-appointed Spanish sworn translator like us.

- An apostille is a certification from the government confirming a stamp or a signature (e.g. from a doctor, a criminal record officer or a births and marriages registrar).
- Official documents issued in the UK often need an apostille before you present them to the Spanish authorities.
- The Spanish translation of visa application documents does not need an apostille (particularly if prepared by an official Spanish sworn translator)
- For the original UK-issued documents, you can obtain apostilles directly from the UK government or through an apostille service offered by a notary public or a legalisation agent.
